This is our delta blues collection. It is a combination of interpretations of songs of Charley Patton (1891-1934) which we admire and respect, and of songs that were inspired by Charley Patton and the Delta Blues. The songs are performed by Storm & Ontij and Crazy Like A Fox, the predecessor of Storm & Ontij. Delta blues is one of the earliest-known styles of blues. It originated in the Mississippi Delta and is regarded as a regional variant of country blues. Guitar and harmonica are it' s dominant instruments; slide guitar is a hallmark of the style. Vocal styles in Delta blues range from introspective and soulful to passionate and fiery. The Patton covers we tried to keep as close to the original as possible i.e. simple, straightforward with soul. Our own song ‘Now is the time of night’ was selected for a masterclass.
